River Plate fans campaign ‘The shirt does not go down’
River Plate fans have launched the campaign “The shirt does not go down” / “La camiseta no desciende”.

A group of River Plate fans seek to change the red band for black, with a campaign whose slogan is “the shirt does not go down”. The idea is that the team put aside the traditional shirt to play in the Primera B with one that has a black band, representing mourning.
“River, the best team in Argentina, went to B. With that came the most humiliating and hard time that we will live in our history. Beyond the sorrow, anguish and anger, we can be calm. We have a plan, an antidote, a cure. We can not erase the past, but we can still clear the future.”
How? They want to let the red & white shirt in Primera Division and play in Nacional B with another kit. One with a black band across the chest, showing how they feel about not being where River should be. In mourning.
“Thus, the history of the biggest club will remain intact. Our children, our grandchildren, no one will see either a picture or a single image of the glorious Red Band in Nacional B. Even though the story of River changed the day we went down, we can still write the story the way we want. Erase the future that we do not deserve.”
