BETDAQ becomes Celtic’s official online betting partner

Celtic Football Club have announced a new partnership with online betting firm BETDAQ who will work with the club to offer supporters the best odds on matches and a range of sporting events.
Betdaq also allows fans to bet against each other as it is a betting exchange, as opposed to a traditional bookmaker.
Former Hoops striker, and ambassador for the brand, Alan McInally, returned to Celtic Park to promote the club’s new deal and said:
“Online betting has grown so big now and it’s great for punters to be watching the game and have that chance to bet on their predictions.
“It’s a great website and if you like a bet, and you want to just press a button, then online betting is the way to go.
“It’s such a massive thing now, and I use Betdaq all the time, it’s brilliant. It doesn’t have to be big money and you can also be the bookie.
“Exchange betting is about having a bet or being a bookmaker, you can lay someone else, which is a fantastic advantage. You can use Betdaq anywhere and at anytime.”
Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our partnership with Betdaq as our online betting partner for season 2011/12.
“We look forward to offering supporters an exciting betting experience with one of the world’s leading betting exchanges.”
Brian O’Sullivan, Betdaq Chief Executive, also said: “Through this sponsorship we are partnering with one of the biggest football clubs in the world, and engaging with a massive supporter base in our key markets.
“The passion of the Celtic supporters is what makes Celtic a truly unique club and we are very excited about becoming Celtic’s online betting partner for the coming season.”
Meanwhile, McInally answered the question on everyone’s lips, who will his money be on next season?
“It would have to be Celtic,” he said. “There won’t be a great deal between Celtic and Rangers, but I think Celtic will probably be the favourites after the disappointing end to the season and with everything being so close.
“Neil Lennon will want to keep his players as well as add to the squad to make them stronger. I’m glad he will still be here and will have that opportunity to hopefully bring the title here next season.”
But on top of that, progress in the UEFA Europa League is also vital for Celtic who will enter the competition at the play-off stage in August.
McInally is hopeful the Hoops can make a mark on the tournament this year and believes it is a possibility now Neil Lennon’s squad have settled together.
“It will be very difficult but the real advantage Neil Lennon has is football clubs have to come to Celtic Park and that’s a real problem,” he said.
“Even for the Barcelonas of this world, it’s still a difficult place to come to and turn Celtic over.”
McInally is aware of the pressure which comes with juggling domestic and European football, but believes the squad has the quality to manage it.
“It’s a balancing act, but being a footballer of Celtic Football Club, you need to have a little bit more about you, and this can really intimidate people,” he said.
”You need a special kind of football player to play for this club – players who are able to deal with these pressures.
“If you’re going to make in-roads in Europe you’re going to have to not only perform here, but when you go away you have to translate that into performances too.”
