Eurosport signs major 4-year agreement with FIFA
Eurosport enhances its football offer with a 4-year agreement signed with FIFA for the 2011-2014 years.
The deal features the LIVE rights of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Men and Women’s FIFA U-17 and U-20 World Cups, as well as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups and FIFA Futsal World Cup.
All World Cups will be broadcast in all territories of Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels with the exception of Scandinavia for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011.
Julien Bergeaud, Broadcasting Director of Eurosport and Eurosport 2, says: “We are delighted to renew our long term partnership with FIFA for these premium competitions. Every year they attract more and more attention, are played to full stadiums around the world and benefit from top TV production. FIFA Women’s World Cup is one of the many great events on Eurosport this year and we are confident it will attract strong audiences”.
The deal sees Eurosport increase its commitment to the best competitions in Women’s Football, Youth Football, Futsal and Beach Soccer.
At a European level Eurosport already broadcasts:
- LIVE UEFA European U-17 and U-19 Championships (men and women) and UEFA European Futsal Championships for the 2010-2013 years
- LIVE Beach Soccer EURO Cup and EURO League for the 2010-2012 years
