United by a passion for soccer, Club América and Denarii Systems have launched the Club América Prepaid MasterCard® in the U.S. Club América fans can now use the Club América Prepaid MasterCard to make purchases, pay bills and remit money, while staying connected to their favorite team.

“We are excited to partner with Club América and Denarii Systems to offer the benefits of prepaid cards and value-added remittance services to Club América fans who are seeking an easy and secure way to manage their everyday payments and send money to loved ones abroad”

“Club América and Denarii have joined forces to shake hands with our fans who are in the United States,” says Michel Bauer, President of Club América. “We want our fans to know they can count on us to make secure purchases and remit funds to their loved ones. At Club América, our fans are what count.”

It is no secret that the core and triumph of Club América is the passion of its 20 million fans in Mexico, and its five million fans in the U.S. Many of these fans do not have a social security card, credit card or bank account, and Club América is proud to facilitate remittances from fans to their loved ones in a fast, economical and secure way. With the Club América Prepaid MasterCard the cardholders are able to send remittances with a text message from their mobile phones, through the website www.mitarjetaclubamerica.com or with a phone call to 1-877-836-0246.

The Club América Prepaid MasterCard also offers cardholders the ability to make ATM withdrawals, pay bills electronically and make purchases everywhere Debit MasterCard is accepted. The card meets the unique needs of underbanked fans who, in addition to lacking traditional banking relationships, may not have access to a secure and affordable way to remit money to their friends and family in Mexico.

“This card has been created as a tool for Club América fans to manage their everyday payment transactions,” said Angel Pacheco, CEO of Denarii. “The ability for fans to send remittances to Mexico for as little as $4.95, pay their bills, and shop wherever they want, all using the convenience of their mobile phone, illustrates the strength and commitment of the partnership between Club América and Denarii.”

Fans in the U.S. may apply for a Club América Prepaid MasterCard and become a “Socio Águila” when visiting the club’s official website, www.clubamerica.com.mx, or www.mitarjetaclubamerica.com. The Prepaid MasterCard card will be available in Mexico by the second quarter of 2011.

“We are excited to partner with Club América and Denarii Systems to offer the benefits of prepaid cards and value-added remittance services to Club América fans who are seeking an easy and secure way to manage their everyday payments and send money to loved ones abroad,” said Patricio Hernandez, Vice President of New Business Development for MasterCard Latin America and the Caribbean. “For those who are underserved by traditional financial institutions, the ongoing advancement of prepaid solutions continues to strive toward financial inclusion and providing everyday benefits.”

With the Club América Prepaid MasterCard, fans can now carry their passion for the Club América team in their pockets.

The Club América Prepaid MasterCard® is issued by MetaBank™, member FDIC, pursuant to a license by MasterCard International Incorporated. MasterCard is a registered trademark of MasterCard International Incorporated.
